Meet The Founder

Niosha Smith — Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Niosha Smith is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tuti Safe House, an organization being developed to provide emergency foster-care shelter and compassionate support for children in crisis throughout Onondaga County, New York.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, licensed real estate professional, former foster parent, and community advocate, Niosha brings years of experience in caregiving, service, leadership, and supporting vulnerable children and families.

Why I Founded Tuti Safe House

Tuti Safe House was born from a simple but powerful belief: no child should face one of the most frightening moments of their life without a safe place to land.

Children entering foster care or experiencing an emergency transition may be frightened, confused, separated from everything familiar, and unsure of what comes next. Tuti Safe House is being created to provide children from birth through age 12 with immediate safety, stability, dignity, comfort, and compassionate care during those critical moments.

My vision is bigger than providing a temporary place to stay. I want every child who comes through Tuti Safe House to know that they matter, that they are worthy of love and protection, and that a difficult beginning does not determine the rest of their story.

We are building Tuti Safe House one brick at a time through community partnerships, strong leadership, responsible planning, and people who believe that children deserve better.

“A safe beginning for every child, and a hopeful path forward.”
